High stress, meaningless relationships, frequent job loss and suspicion OR well-being, great friendships and frequent promotions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We&#8217;ve all heard the expression &#8220;Happy Wife, Happy Life&#8221; but how about &#8220;High Trust, It&#8217;s a Must&#8221; or &#8220;Low Trust Go Bust!.&#8221; I contend that being trustworthy will not only make you happy, but wealthier in many ways than you are today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>What do we mean by being trustworthy? Let&#8217;s use this very simple definition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Act with integrity and always keep your word.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">First, let&#8217;s talk about the inherent risks of being untrustworthy:<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">It takes more time and \u00a0psychological energy than it&#8217;s trustworthy counterpart and results in:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High stress<\/li>\n<li>Low energy<\/li>\n<li>Frequent job loss<\/li>\n<li>Meaningless relationships<\/li>\n<li>Low levels of creativity<\/li>\n<li>High levels of suspicion among friends, family and coworkers<\/li>\n<li>High barriers to communication due to lack of honesty and broken promises<\/li>\n<li>Poor and slow decision making<\/li>\n<li>High transaction costs<\/li>\n<li>Win\/lose situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>On the flip side, here are ten great reasons to be trustworthy:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psychological well-being<\/li>\n<li>Meaningful friendships and business relationships<\/li>\n<li>Faster, more efficient decision making<\/li>\n<li>Greater personal effectiveness in groups<\/li>\n<li>Greater support for your decisions<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Career promotions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Win\/win opportunities<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Role modeling trustworthy behavior<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">More time for creativity and relaxation<\/span><\/li>\n<li>More money in your pocket (people want to do business with those they trust)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Be trustworthy.
