Why Do CEOs Behave Badly?<\/h4>\n

Did anyone read this week’s article about Ryan Air<\/a> in Time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Led by brash, headline-grabbing CEO Michael O\u2019Leary\u2014known for\u00a0<\/span>calling customers \u201cidiots\u201d<\/a><\/em>\u00a0for thinking they won\u2019t be hit with fees at the airport, among other things\u2014Ryanair has a long, storied history of bad, misleading behavior.<\/em>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Or\u00a0this article<\/a> about Uber’s CEO?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a\u00a0<\/span>Medium\u00a0post from October titled “<\/span>Can We Trust Uber?<\/a>” entrepreneur\u00a0<\/span>Peter Sims<\/a>\u00a0recalls an event in which he had his Uber car’s location in New York unknowingly shared on a screen by company executives at a party in Chicago. Uber CEO\u00a0<\/span>Travis Kalanick<\/a>\u00a0did not seem to think twice about it, using it as an opportunity to show attendees the cool things the platform was capable of. This party trick was called “God View.”<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

And lest we forget what Mark Zuckerberg chose to call\u00a0his customers<\/a> just a few years ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Understanding that this arrogance shows a lack of character, integrity and disregard for customers, why would any CEO choose this route?<\/p>\n

And being that\u00a0profitability and trust are close allies,<\/a>\u00a0who are the real “idiots” and “dumb f–ks in this story?”<\/p>\n
