Basic human decency- has it disappeared? It certainly seems that way- and perhaps this is why trustworthy business behavior has too.<\/p>\n
My holiday wish for all of you is to consider the following professional business practices and share them with your team, every month beginning in January.\u00a0 Together we can begin to rebuild human decency in 2013 and collectively elevate the level of trust in business. Na\u00efve? – Maybe, but certainly worth a try.<\/p>\n
January<\/strong>– \u00a0Promises<\/em>: If you make a promise, keep it.<\/p>\n February<\/strong>– Behavior<\/em>: Practice what you preach.<\/p>\n March<\/strong>– Accountability<\/em>: If you say you are going to do something, follow through.<\/p>\n April<\/strong>– Obligations<\/em>: If you owe someone money, pay them. Don\u2019t hide behind your legal department.<\/p>\n May<\/strong>– Integrity:<\/em> If you are told something in confidence, don\u2019t betray it.<\/p>\n June<\/strong>– Teamwork<\/em>: Have your colleague\u2019s back.<\/p>\n July<\/strong>– Respect<\/em>: \u00a0Be on time for the meeting or the phone call.<\/p>\n August<\/strong>– Honor:<\/em> Your handshake should be worth as much as a written contract.<\/p>\n September<\/strong>– Humility<\/em>: \u00a0Be humble.
